Basic wiring – DIN Sockets
- MIDI out – this is the 5 pin DIN socket that sends MIDI messages.
- MIDI in – this is the 5 pin DIN socket that receives MIDI messages.
- MIDI thru – this 5 pin DIN socket sends out a copy of any messages that come in on the MIDI in socket. It’s used for ‘daisy chaining’ multiple devices.
- There are ways to split and merge MIDI connections to create more complicated setups.
